KLOCHKO EQUIPMENT HOSTS THE DETROIT CHAPTER OF NAWIC
Melvindale, MI - The National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC), Detroit Chapter #183, held their July meeting at Klochko Equipment Rental headquarters in Melvindale, MI. The meeting, focused on equipment operation, provided the group with hands on experience with skid steer loaders and mini excavators.
After a brief company history given by Sales Manager, Dan Pagel, the group toured the Klochko facility learning about day to day operations. Several large pieces of industrial and construction equipment were made available for inspection and discussion. Everyone was encouraged to sit in the operators seat while the various controls and features of each unit were outlined.
The ladies were then challenged to run a skid steer through an obstacle course followed by a game of “drop the baseball in a bucket” using mini excavators.
This experience resulted in an appreciation for heavy equipment operators and the skill it takes to safely operate and maneuver equipment.
